Selenium

A mineral that is not the most popular and the most valued, but that has two fundamental functions. The first in the thyroid, some proteins are selenium-dependent, meaning that without it they do not work and can lead to something as serious as hypothyroidism. Another function relates to the chelation of heavy metals. In a time when we consume heavy metals involuntarily, selenium helps to eliminate the heavy metals that build up in our body.
